A 48-YEAR-OLD man from Brighouse has won more than £26,000 playing bingo at the Mecca Club in Huddersfield. Chris Park, a packer at Avocet hardware suppliers in Brighouse, plays bingo once or twice a week. He was at the Folly Hall club with his sister when he won a national bingo game prize of £25,000, plus a further regional prize of £1,062 and the house prize of £147. The national prize was £50,000 which Chris shared with a woman in York who also completed a full house in 43 numbers. Chris, who is single, has been a Mecca member for about nine years. He had previous wins of a £1,000 regional prize on the national game in 1998 and £300 last year. Chris said: "My first thought is to have an extra special holiday." |
