THE COUNTRY DANCE SHOW will be held from 7 to 9:30 p.m. every Saturday night in the Exhibition building at the Albion Fairgrounds. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Donations will be taken at the door. Drawings for door prizes at break time. On the first, third and fifth Saturdays, the Opry Country Dance Band will be playing all types of music including square dance music. THE RAPP GRANARY in New Harmony, Ind. will kick off an Under the Beams concert series. The first of four concerts will be held at 8 p.m. Jan. 31 with Beyond Folk by Peter Ostroushko. Alessandra Ammara will perform the Classical Brilliance at 3 p.m. Feb. 22. Stefan Seagglari will perform All That Jazz at 8 p.m. March 20. The finale of the concert series will be the Nashville Chamber Orchestra performing American Roots at 8 p.m. May 1. Tickets for each performance are $25 or season subscriptions are available for $88. A SAUSAGE GRAVY AND BISCUIT BREAKFAST will be held from 6:30 to 9 a.m. Jan. 31 at the Albion Moose Family Center. The cost is $3 for adults, $1.50 for children ages 5 to 12 and children under the age of 5 eat free.

Dennis Visual and Performing Arts Center will present "Harriet Tubman: One Woman's Story of Strength and Courage" from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Feb. 25 in George T. Dennis VPAC lobby. In observance of Black History Month, Marlene Rivero presents a program on Harriet Tubman through song, costumes, and first-person characterization. Rivero relates Tubman's role in the Underground Railroad and how she has served as an inspiration to persons of all creeds and color throughout generations. Hospital payroll problems fixed

Some employees of White County Medical Center and Skilled Care Unit were surprised Friday when they could not cash their payroll checks.

Carmi-White County Pre-K receives grant

The Carmi-White County Pre-Kindergarten will receive a Scripps-Howard Foundation Volunteer Grant of $1,000, thanks to the efforts of Michelle Land Harris, parent of former Pre-K student Rory Harris.
